When purchasing spools, it is strongly recommended to also purchase plastic C-clips. C-clips are meant to be placed on either side of your spool to prevent unnecessary movement along the line shaft. By preventing this unnecessary movement, you are also preventing premature wearing and/or breakage of your O-rings.
