There are three common methods to determine the O-ring size you need:

Method One: Cut Length (Measuring of Prewelded/Endless Polyurethane)

  • Cut your NEW, UNUSED O-ring
  • Measure the length of the cut O-ring against a ruler
  • Measure the thickness of the cut O-ring
  • Analyze the color of the cut O-ring (this helps determine O-ring durometer)

Method Two: Application Measurement (Measuring of Conveyor Line Shaft)

  • Measure from the roller, around the groove of the spool (on line shaft), and back to the roller.
  • Multiply this length by .90 (this gives you your cut length)
  • Measure the thickness of the O-ring
  • Analyze the color of the cut O-ring (this helps determine O-ring durometer)

Method Three: From a Twisted O-Ring Length

  • From a poly twisted O-ring length add 7%

How-To: Switch From Endless O-Rings to Twisted O-Rings

Making the switch from endless O-rings to twisted O-rings is much easier than expected. In just a few simple steps, you will be on your way to reduced conveyor downtime. Follow The Two-Step Switch instructions, and start saving conveyor downtime now.

Are Your Spools Slipping?

Black keyed spool were created for curves, inclines, or greater drive conveyors. These spools sport a key within the midsection, which aligns with the ridge on keyed line shafts. Plastic C-clips were created to preventing slipping spools and the premature wearing of O-rings. These C-clips are shaped as a half circle, creating a simple installation.

What Are Twisted Cotton O-Rings?

Rope twisted O-rings are the longer-lasting alternative to twisted polyurethane, and the easier-installation alternative to endless polyurethane O-rings. These may be the most time-saving O-rings for you and your facility.
