Polyurethane O-rings in High Tension Blue are also known as Translucent Blue. This name comes from the opaque blue color of the cord. This color is important as it signifies the different stretch factor of these Polyurethane O-rings. These High Tension Blue bands are very common in roller to roller applications and power rollers. Polyurethane O-rings in High Tension Blue have more stretch, providing more tension and more driving power. It is not advised to just change from Clear Polyurethane O-rings without sampling a specific size or understanding the stretch factor. Standard clear Polyurethane O-rings stretch 7-10% when installed propertly, and High Tension Blue Polyurethane O-rings stretch about 20%. This is a very different amount of stretch and needs to be factored in when sizing these Polyurethane O-rings. These are a great alternative to standard Clear Polyurethane O-rings. Just make sure to accomodate for the stretch.
